CSE Summer Fellowship Application

College of Science and Engineering Fellowship Application - Summer 2024

Applications are due by Friday, February 16, 2024 by 11:59PM. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. 

Qualifications:

Nominated students must be current WWU students, a declared major in a CSE department, and the student must enroll at WWU in fall quarter 2024. In addition, it is the student’s responsibility to meet any further qualifications imposed by individual scholarships.

Criteria:

All CSE scholarships are awarded based upon overall academic merit, including scholastic achievement, participation in research or other scholarship, and any service activities. Some scholarships also require students to demonstrate financial need.

There are up to three research fellowships that will be awarded to chemistry department applicants.

*Awards are paid as summer salary—students will track their working hours and submit time cards. Time commitment is approximately 40hrs/week for 10 weeks. Official fellowship amounts are not yet determined. If you have questions about fellowship amounts please contact cse@wwu.edu

Please fill out all required questions. Upon submitting your application, it will be sent to your respective faculty mentor who can review all submission materials. To be considered an official applicant, your faculty mentor will need to provide a brief statement in support to be included with your application. Please discuss your intent to apply with your faculty mentor/PI prior to submitting this application. If you have questions or concerns about this webform or the application process please reach out to Chemistry@wwu.edu. 

This application requires a 1-2 page statement to be submitted along with all transcripts from WWU and other institutions. All attachments should be in PDF format. If you need any assistance exporting your materials to PDF or obtaining unofficial transcripts, please contact chemistry@wwu.edu. 

Personal Statement prompt:

Please provide a 1-2 page personal statement describing your background, qualifications, and motivation for applying for this fellowship, as well as a brief description of the proposed research and your future goals.
