I am a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at Western Washington University, where I teach Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, and General Chemistry. In my courses, I place strong emphasis on hands-on laboratory experience, data interpretation, and the development of rigorous scientific habits of mind.
I have held academic and research appointments at Lund University in Sweden, Virginia Tech in the United States, Taif University in Saudi Arabia, and Port Said University in Egypt. My research background spans metal–organic frameworks, coordination polymers, metal oxide nanoparticles, and molybdenum oxo complexes as enzyme models.
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience with advanced analytical and spectroscopic techniques, including SEM, TEM, AFM, TGA, DSC, Raman, HPLC, UV–Vis, and NMR. These tools have shaped not only my scientific training but also my way of thinking about structure, pattern, and the hidden order behind complex systems.
Beyond my work in chemistry, I have spent more than two decades exploring a deep intellectual question that has guided much of my personal research: What is the relationship between language, existence, and consciousness?
Research Interests
Dr. Abdelrhman’s scholarly interests center on coordination chemistry and materials science, with particular emphasis on metal–organic frameworks, coordination polymers, metal oxide nanoparticles, and molybdenum oxo complexes as functional and enzymatic models. His work is informed by extensive experience in thermal analysis and advanced materials characterization, including TGA, DSC, Raman spectroscopy, SEM, and related analytical techniques.
